The Inner Harbor Project has opened recruitment for the fall season. The Inner Harbor Project recruits youth leaders three times a year. Youth may only apply for one position. The job descriptions of openings for youth leaders are below. Please sign up for an interview and designate for which position you are applying. 

Please bring a photo to your interview. Dress professionally or in your school uniform and arrive ten minutes early. The interviews will be held at 616 Water St. Suite 322. We are located by Powerplant Live! and the Shot Tower subway station.

Note: Please sign up for an interview on a Tuesday or Thursday if you are applying for Youth Engagement Training. Please sign up for an interview on a Monday or Wednesday if you are applying for Harbor Card or Events. These are the only restrictions on interview times.
Youth Leader for the Harbor Card:

The Harbor Card team is in charge of organizing and distributing a discount card to stores and attractions in the Inner Harbor.

Youth Leader should have the following skills:

  • familiarity with the Inner Harbor stores
  • friendly and upbeat
  • outgoing
  • motivated
  • organized
  • hard worker

Job Requirements: 10 hours a week during the school year, 25-30 hours a week during the summer. Must attend high school in Baltimore City.

Youth Leader for Events:

The Events team is a brand new team working to create positive outlets and activities for youth in the Inner Harbor. They will plan free weekly programming for youth, as well as larger-scale events a few times a year.

Youth Leader should have the following skills:

  • friendly and social, involved with peers
  • creative thinker
  • good at planning and problem solving
  • organized
  • hard worker

Job Requirements: 10 hours a week during the school year, 25-30 hours a week during the summer. Must attend high school in Baltimore City.

Youth Leader for Youth Engagement Training:

The Youth Engagement Training team leads workshops for police officers and other authority figures to teach them positive ways of interacting with teenagers. 

Youth Leader should have the following skills:

  • good public speaker, able to speak in front of audiences of various sizes
  • capable of working in a group
  • organized
  • patient and willing to listen to other points of view
  • flexible and able to adapt to change
  • presentable handwriting

Job Requirements: 10 hours a week during the school year, 25-30 hours a week during the summer. Must attend high school in Baltimore City.
